Office of Naval Research — Extending The Littoral Battlespace (ELB) Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration
Project Overview: The primary focus of the ELB ACTD Wide Area Relay Network (WARNET) was to support a rapidly deployable, on-the-move, secure and reliable wireless network connectivity. The ELB utilized a heterogeneous mix of technologies, including RF, microwave, fiber optic and satellite to provide seamless end-to-end service.
- CenGen provided lead technical support and was responsible for designing, developing, configuring and implementing an extremely flexible and scalable three-tiered communications network architecture.
- CenGen provided project management and expert assistance in the system design, prototype, demonstration and management of the communications and network architecture for the Extending the Littoral Battlespace Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration.
- CenGen services included hardware development support, hardware engineering support, System Engineering, transitioning emerging technologies into practical applications to support DoD missions.
- CenGen provided requirements analysis, rapid prototyping and proof of concept, detailed design, hardware and software requirements definition, and cost estimation. Successes included multiple demonstrations of capabilities including a Major System Demonstration in which nearly 1,000 Marines participated in a demonstration of highly-mobile high-data-rate wireless beyond line-of-sight UAV based communications
