CONDOR
United States Marine Corps
Command and Control On-the-move Network Digital Over-the-horizon
Relay (CONDOR)

Project Overview: CONDOR, Command and Control
On-the-move Network Digital Over-the-horizon Relay,
is the Marine Corps answer to current communication
problems faced by troops in the field. Using a variety
of wireless technologies, CONDOR will allow separate
groups to communicate timely and accurate details through
voice, situational awareness, and video, while traveling
along their designated routes.

CenGen designed and demonstrated
initial CONDOR (formerly STOM Bridge) architecture to
USMC at MCTSSA, Camp Pendleton
CenGen Inc has acted as the design contractor since
2002 when the CONDOR concept was conceived. CenGen with
funding from the Office of Naval Research designed and
demonstrated the initial proof of concept of an on the
move over the horizon communications capability and
the C2 On the move Network Digital Over the horizon
Relay (CONDOR) program (formerly STOM Bridge) transitioned
to the Marine Corps and is now a Marine Corps Program
of Record.
CenGen has built a fully functional
CONDOR Gateway
It is anticipated that there will be three different
types of CONDOR vehicles. CONDOR Gateways will use EPLRS
tactical data radios (TDRs) to allow communication coverage
beyond the current line-of-sight limitations. CONDOR
Point-of Presence Vehicle (POP-V) will allow individual
units to connect to a tactical data network using TDR
other than EPLRS. CONDOR Jump Command and Control (C2)
Vehicle will act as a mobile command post with data
communications capability.
