Tim Krout, Expert In Wireless,
Fiber Optic and Satellite Communications, Named Vice
President of Engineering
July 1, 2000 Tim Krout, who served as Senior
Engineer for Project Management, Network and Computer
Systems Development for Naval Research Laboratory in
Washington, D.C. and as Principal Engineer for Columbia
Telecommunications Corporation in Columbia, MD, was
named vice president of CenGen, Inc., of Columbia, MD.
Krout brings over 19 years of world class technical
expertise in all aspects of wireless, fiber optic and
satellite communications projects to CenGen. In particular,
Krout brings expertise in Extending the Littoral Battlespace
(ELB) experience with the Office of Naval Research,
cellular tower siting analysis and support, and Intelligent
Transportation Systems (ITS) telecommunications.
The recipient of the 1997 NAMRAD Achievement Award (1997)
for outstanding effort during the TESPEX series of experiments,
Krout has been involved in the research & development,
design, installation, testing and operational support
for high-end networks. He served as Project Manager
for all aspects of Satellite-linked Vertical Line Array
system (SVLA), from inception and presentations to obtaining
funding.
Krout has earned several
special awards and honors for special performance. He
was given the:

computer technology

Awards (1991) for superior leadership and technical
skills demonstrated in the development of a data acquisition
system under server time constraints and interface
difficulties

development of LANs and UNIX Systems Administration
support

Awards (1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1993) for client/server
and peer-to-peer system development and LAN development
Krout is an IEEE member and presenter
for the Communications and Oceanic Engineering Societies.
